06-25-2009, 5:57 PM slipchuck Joined on 04-26-2007 canada Posts 287 possible sticky? definately a money saver If you have a screw that won't budge without screwing up the slot (phillips) go to the auto shop and get some lapping compound. yes, that's right rubbing compound. now dunk your screw driver/screw driver bit in the compound and then try turning out the screw. I used a cordless drill with a right hand attachment, pushing on the attachment and a screw I thought was a gonner came out no problem! this can save a lot of headaches and possible money some people put it on every screw head slot to save the trouble in the first place let me know what you think/how it worked for you cheers randy Save a child with cancer! http://www.csolve.net/~randyroi    Report

06-26-2009, 7:01 AM Interstater Joined on 12-10-2006 La Crosse, Wisconsin Posts 152 Re: possible sticky? definately a money saver Lapping compound helps, but if you are working on bikes at all you really should have and use a hand held impact driver.  With this tool a couple of taps with a ball peen hammer will usually loosen any screw without messing up the head.   You can get a cheap one with bits for less than $15, a good one for less than $50.
