Posts 32 Re: 1983 Silverwing in Oregon $500 I have to wait on the Boss to get out of class (she's a high school teacher), but this bike is 28 miles from my Uncle, and one I've been looking for. If I get the go ahead, and it's still available this evening, I'm going to do my best to purchase it and ride it home this spring. I can get Uncle to look it over, make the purchase, and store it for me until this spring when the weather clears. If this goes through I would love to meet several of these members on that ride home. Fantastic deal really. Just the bag guards would nearly pay for the bike. Too bad it is 2988 miles one way for me. UPDATE: I just talked to Brian on the phone. The bike needs tires, and the front calipers are sticky, and there is light rust on all the chrome, but otherwise it is good to go. He has some people interested in it, and wants to sell it by Wednesday, because he needs the money for a move out of state.. He is willing to keep it at his moms though, till the buyer could pick it up, even if it is summertime. So I am mulling over sending him $500 by moneygram, and flying out to ride it home this spring. He can do transfer papers, no Title for the bike. Not sure if that is a biggie or not. Hmmmm,,,,, mull, mull I am starting to feel like I am just an insect trapped in a tiny square, and I can't seem to find a way out!    Report

I ride a 83 GL650I Posts 514 Re: 1983 Silverwing in Oregon $500 Another update, I can get a flight out to Eugene for $200, then It is another 100 miles to Newport. A couple hundred dollars for tires.  Hmmm This is a great deal but too far for me I am afraid. With food and gas back, lost work (as if I will have a job then) etc I would spend over $1500 or so total, too much. Oh well. Somebody out there snap this up, and offer the bling here for decent prices, and you will have a free Silverwing Interstate. I am starting to feel like I am just an insect trapped in a tiny square, and I can't seem to find a way out!    Report

This may be the new owner and the "shop lein" may be why it's for sale again.
