(lowered and raked) Well, I learned something about this bike yesterday as I was going to the gas station on lunch.  If I turn left and drive over those little 6" circles in the road that are for water hook up or something, I bottom out on the pivot pin part for that center stand thingy and it sort of lifts my back tire off the pavement for a split second as I poop my pants. beings that the stand was hacked in half before I got it, I will just be removing all of it.  this is just a fyi post for any of you that will be lowering your bike to a ridiculously low height...

(lowered and raked) Hey guys.  The project is still ongoing, I just haven't worked on it lately.  I am working on my VW corrado a bit so I don't get bored with one single project.  The drag bars ride nice, but you do have to lean forward quite a bit.  I have something in my back that starts to pinch when I ride my rocket for about 40 miles and hurts like hell, and it does it on the chopper too now that I have those bars on it.     Report

(lowered and raked) Thanks for the replies, I got a set of drag bars for a decent price (fished them off of the 'bay).  Looking forward to putting them on the CX and feeling how it rides then. Keep up with the updates on that low slung chopper, I'm loving the way it looks, although I'll probably keep mine a little more stock.      Report

(lowered and raked) Hey guys,   I haven't done anything recently with my chopper.  I have been restoring a retro ski boat. But have no fear, the chopper will still be hopefuly finished this winter after the boat is done.  I attached a picture that I based my bike after, and how I think I am going to make the pipes like.  What do you think about the pipes??  I attached another one of my pictures under it for quick reference. (lowered and raked) Look to the old BSA style sometimes had the pipes on a high rise style, sort of like the Honda 305 scrambler but with one pipe on each side of the bike. My point is make it look smooth and streamlined, no sharp angles like on the other bike. By the way your bike still rocks. Smooth looking. Hang tough. Rusty    Report

Why not place horzintal two exhaustdampers above each other on the right side of the bike, just a bit higher and further back than the exhaust is now?    Report

(lowered and raked) I think you will need some asbestos(sp?) jeans to ride that thing. lol I would imagine that those pipes will get mighty hot under your leg there. I'm gonna stay with the 2 low slung straight pipes. (lowered and raked) Excellent points.  How about fishtails?  I LOVE the look, but am unsure if they would look sweet.  I'm not bothered by making my own exhaust, or anything, I just don't want to throw off the low stretch look too much.  I think fishtails would help to make it look way longer    Report

(lowered and raked) If you want to raise them, turn them up behind the pegs, similar to dozer's, but I'd match the angle of the frame tube that holds the passenger peg and muffler hanger. But I do agree that long pipes will look nice. We picked up these pipes on the Dutch version of ebay for about $60,-. (lowered and raked) wow moib!  Where did you get that rear fender?  I love it!  Although I would want it to go way closer to the ground.  I do like how long your pipes are too.  They really help stretch the bike out.    Report
