Try a new main 30amp fuse - NEW.

Anyhoo thanks for the reply! The main 30 amp fuse is just a link isn't it? I used to have a ghetto fuse holder in place of that but it melted and I went back to a stock one I found in the box...

When can I get said fuse? What makes it fail intermittently? I'm also assuming since it resets the clock the it must be either direct power or ground...

Ding! you win... Got it to act up and tested power across it... 12v on one side 0 on the other... it broke near one of the screws...

but... where do I get a new one?

Bob, The metal that those fuses are made of, slowly crystalises with age and vibration, and they end up looking alright until you give them a poke, and - bingo - it is not a continuous piece of metal.   You're not the first - by any means - to be caught by that fuse crystalising.   It also happens to the ribbon-element inside the tubular glass fuses, too.
