I have a brake master cylinder rebuild kit for a standard GL500 / CX500 with a single front disc brake that I don't need. The Part Number is 45530-MA4-671 so you can check to make sure it is the right one for you.
In fact, when I bought the bike, it needed the M/C rebuilt and they had bought the wrong kit. So, other than I had opened it to find out it was the wrong one, it is still new.
The kit costs around $25 new (according to www.hdlparts.com). If you pay shipping (I can calculate US Postal if you would like), and make me an offer, it is yours.
BTW, I posted this in the "selling" area of the board, but this area gets more traffic.
I looked up your bike (1980 CX500 C) on www.hdlparts.com and it looks like you need the Master Cylinder kit with the honda P/N 45530-463-305 or 45530-422-305. So, I don't think the one I have will fit.
If you go here: http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=1980&fveh=3399
You can look under "FR. BRAKE MASTER CYL. 80" in the drop down, you can see the kit. It is number 12...
However, the kit comes with the following:
If you go onto the www.hdlparts.com, you can actually do a part number lookup to see what a part number is though it doesnt tell you what bike it fits on.
No problem! I would hate for someone to make the same mistake the previous owners of this bike did and buy the wrong rebuild kit.
LOL, I did the exact same thing. Bought from old bike barn, I thot I was careful ordering...... I got one for the single caliper MC not the dual caliper. I of course found my mistake after disassembly, and the original was pooched. So alas it was Friday and no brakes, and no parts around in town. I ended up at a wrecker pulling an old Kawi single caliper MC off a scrap 80's machine. Still on and going strong.
WOW! You were lucky! Good job guessing though. I would think that all the bike suppliers use the same or similar sizing just like the car makers.
Just so anyone looking knows, I have sold the kit.
Thanks for looking!
Sorry, it is sold...
