Speedo Tach Gauge mixup

Will a Speedo, Tach gauge off a 79 CX500C fit a 81 CX500C? I'm just starting a rebuild and will have a few questions as I go along. Is there a big difference in the electrical system between all the CX500C years(78-82)? Would I be able to mix in match parts with them?

The CX500 Customs were imported to the US for '79-'82.  They are wired substantially the same EXCEPT for the '82, which is a lot different due to different engine ignition system.
