I would love to hear the stories behind the names of everyone's bikes.... I understand Miss Piggy (the pink one), but is there special significance to the others?

Well, I call mine the "Leafmobile" - mainly cause I was born in Toronto, and my favorite hockey team - but also had to opportunity to actually be called up from the minor's (Marlies) for one game to replace Keon - way back in the 60's ....... so, that's my story and I'm stickin' with it .....
Bottom of the page you'll see the one and only "Leafmobile" .... albeit, now in 1000 pieces in my kitchen - it will never die, as long as I'm alive !!!! n' by the way - the backrest emblem is original n' the one I wore - way back when my knees were strong - the good ol' days eh !!!!

I'm not particularly original. Black is a black CX500 Deluxe. Silver is a Moonstone Silver GL650 Racer is a CX500T with racing stripes. Rat was a CX500T rat bike when I got it.
I still haven't named my CX650. After a few half hour rides, "Ball-buster" is beginning to grow on me. . . .
Two CX500 Turbos, GL650I, CX650C, CX650E.
Why do I own five bikes? Because I'm not married. DUH! (and I haven't taken a vacation in two years. . . . )

My fiance is calling my bike "Christine" and its really starting to annoy me. The story behind it is the rumored demise of it's previous owner.

Christine is what I call my 81 cx,,the car in the story was about the same age when it was written as the bike was when I got it (from a french guy), it took very little to get it running and the more I drove it the better it worked, the speedo didn't turn backwards but I did put on new gauges with less miles showing on the odometer.
and when I drive it I become possesed

Stella for the Comstar(stella is star in italian) wheels, having lived in italy for a few years. Plus, I think it fits her.

I am currently riding "The Basket Case" as it literally came to me in baskets and boxes, disassembled. It is a GL650I. It is about an 81/2 out of 10 bike. Or as I prefer to say a perfect 10 at 10 feet.
I am working on "The Phoenix" to sell. It really isn't coming from the ashes, it is just that I named it to tell it apart from the other bike. The Phoenix will soon be up for sale. It is an 81/2 out of 10 bike that is a GL650I.

I've been calling my bike "Twisted" quite a bit. So I reckon that's what it's name is. I really like the idea of a transverse twin or twisted twin. It's different and odd. Just like me.

I started off calling my bike Pu. But it was a temporary name. I think I've about settled on Grover, for obvious reasons.

My bikes have names. It mostly depends on how they are running.
"Piece of crap" was a name used several times for both bikes.
Most of the time they are just big and little.

Little Wing, from the Hendrix song:
Well, she's walking through the clouds With a circus mind that's running wild Butterflies and zebras And moonbeams and fairy tales That's all she ever thinks about Riding with the wind.
When I'm sad, she comes to me With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free It's alright she says it's alright Take anything you want from me, anything Anything.
Fly on, Little Wing, Yeah yeah, yeah, Little Wing

#1 for the 500. Was going to use #2 for the 650, but I think I'll call it "dammit". Used it alot while working on it.

I kind of started calling mine El Toro this spring. It previously had no name, and I don't know if I'll stick with this one, but it's kind of fun to confuse people when I say stuff like "I rode El Toro to work today".
Freedom, not safety, is the greatest good.

Dont have a name for the current ride but I called my first bike "my polish motorsickle". When people would look at me confused I'd explain "its a ca-WAH-ski" (kawasaki).
