Here are a couple shots of my 650 Eurosport, Mods include chrome plating of the aluminum parts, custom Sargent seat, LED brake light grab bar, custom chromed comstar wheels, rear wheel is a custom 18 x 3 rim size (original 18 x 2.5) polished fork sliders, chromed muffler endcaps, chrome front turn signal housings are Gold Wing rear signal housings(stock were black plastic), oil temperature dipstick, and CXT rear license plate bracket with reflectors. This bike has 7500 original kms. It is the quietest CX engine I have ever experienced, just plain sweet, and rides like a dream. Lots of power and flickable in the turns, great ride.

I love how your bike's looks ... I wish those wheels would have been offered in the USA on something besides the Turbos.

Dan, if I ever win the lottery, I'll buy that bike. It is absolutely beautiful. When did you move to Bamma?

That thing makes my 80 custom look decidedly boring.
How hard is it to find a Eurosport in the US.
I would love to have a 650 eurosport or heck even a 500 eurosport would be nice.
Well could also be some nice incentive to carry through on my plans to turn my 500C into a street fighter

They were offered on some models of the VFR750R ad the CB1100F. I get those wheels when I can fine them to morph then into 18" rear wheels for the turbo and the rims are 3" wide. Still skinny compared to modern tin.

There are at least about 6 of them in the States. It is easier to get them from Canada. Mine was found by Kathy Leslie in Australia in a city called Adelaide. This was on the other coast from Kathy who lives in Canberra. The original owner is a farmer. The bike was a bit tall for him as he was on tip toe at stops, that added to the fact that he had to go a mile or so on a dirt road to the farm, He didn't ride it much and mostly sat in a barn. When Kathy found it, the mileage was only just under 4000KM which is about 2500 miles. Kathy and her husband Ron came over to the States 3 years ago to motorcycle tour for the Summer. Kathy sent the bike over here for me to keep until they got here and then I was going to buy the bike after their travels. I was going to locate a Gold Wing for Ron. Their daughter wanted to come also so they decided to tour by car and I just bought the bike outright. Katy work for a Gov't agency and helped me get a discount on shipping the bike which cost $900, a bargain from down under. I went to the Honda Hoot that Summer where the Leslie's met up with me and we did some riding. Kathy enjoyed the 650E a lot. I have all the paperwork for the bike from new as Kathy sent everything and some spare parts too. The fact that motorcycles sold in Australia have to pass California emission standards helped ease the customs requirements to import the bike. Kathy helped with providing the documentation on that. I had to go to Jacksonville, FL to go claim, pay for customs, uncrate and load the bike. It was a neat experience. To get another 650 Eurosport here is going to be a bit of work, but it can be done. I'm not sure of the cost of bringing one from Canada but it will be a lot less than importing one from overseas. If it gets sold it won't be cheap, I have over $2500 in chroming done already. There are a few more things to polish and plate like brake calipers and brackets, install a polished CXT swingarm, CXT rear caliper support strut, braided brake lines, chrome plate the clutch cover, and a few other tidbits. Anyway, it is essentially a new bike. It surprises everyone who wants to know where I got my new bike they didn't know Honda was selling. I tell them to get in a time machine to 1983........., and then they can't believe the model year of the bike.
A couple of neat features present that are not on USA bikes. On the left handlebar controls is a button that resembles a horn button but it flashes the high beam of the headlight, I guess, for passing. On the right side handle bar controls is a sliding switch to turn on/off the headllight, parking lights, or everything off. The high beam flash button would be a good stealth nitrous activator! NOT, it would flip over too easy!

I started the new job on December 6. My apartment is in Alabaster which is 5 miles South of Pelham, which is 18 miles South of Birmingham. The school website is www.vctechnical.com We teach students how to do skills like you see on TV shows like "Overhaulin'","Orange County Choppers", "West Coast Choppers", "Coddington", "Chip Foose", "Pimp My Ride", Speed Channel", etc. I'm a kid in a candy shop! This place slam dunks my teaching high school auto mechanics job I left.

that looks like a pretty killer school.
Are they as grossly overpriced as UTI or Wyotech?

Two CX650's passed through my hometown on their way from Canada, One was being transported by John Arsenault on it's way from Canada to Lee Harder then in northern GA. The other was left at my place by Glenn Coates for Rich Nichols from CT to pick up. There must be other CX650's up in Canada hiding in old barns. I took Rich's for a ride, it is nothing like a GL500. I would love to get my hands on a CX500Euro.

I've been told that the CX500E (or CX500Sport as I think they were called in the in the 500cc version in '82) were not sold in Canada. I hear lots of stuff, so I'm not sure if that's true or not, but I've not ever heard of one referred to in North America. Anyone know? My avatar photo is from an advertising picture, but one of my Es is that color. They have a rear disk brake, TRAK antidive on one front fork, and a fuel gauge. I think Rich L has a CX650E also, since he has a very inclusive collection of CX/GLs, including Turbos, many of which have impressively low mileages. We met him a couple of years ago at the Vintage Motorcycle Days (VMD) in Ohio, riding a nice GL500. Jim(NJ), Jon(OH), Pete(OH), Ernie(CT) and I don't remember who all else were there, if that jogs any memories.

The school is expensive but not grossly though. It depends on how many specialty programs are chosen. The advantage is that the schooling is done in a year as opposed to 2 or 4 years like other colleges. School is 8.5 hours a day. It is intense but you get trained and out to work in your desired occupational area. There is a waiting list to hire graduates because of the high demand for technically trained professionals. The vast majority of students have jobs to help with school expenses, so there is not homework assigned. I have fun visiting the various specialty areas and watch the work being done. I wish I could go through all the programs myself. That would be fun. I could build a custom bike, street rod, do custom paint and graphics, and make all the interior and upholstery.

I guess I can tell this one again, or should we have a FAQ section.
The cx500e was not sold in North America, so the only ones that are in Canada have been brought over by Brit's. for their own use. It's been at least 5 years since I've come across one here.
The USA didn't get the 1983 cx650e, but then Canada didn't get the cx650c. I've not come across any cx650e's for sale since last fall, only a 7,000 km cx500tc that ithought was overpriced.

Thanks Glenn, I thought it was you I'd heard it from. Now for the question I asked but was not answered, what does "Freedom 55" mean? Certainly you're not 55 years old (and not getting any closer each year I'd wager, right?)
