HTTA Amish Rally 2008

PWG in Lowgap NC 06-03-2008, 2:46 PM

This year I'm asking everyone to bring what photos they have of Dick in Raleigh, so we can share memories.

Folks, I have been told many times: The success of any event depends on how much you promote it.  Be aware that as of today, you are going to be seeing daily promotions to our 2008 Amish Rally.  It has been the most successful, enjoyable and inexpensive rally ever.  We have the use of a large camp/lodge in a Pennsylvania countryside setting for only $6.00 per person per night.  80 gallons of hot water, two bathrooms, four showers, two kitchens fully supplied with cookware and dinnerware. Upstairs and downstairs porches for bull sessions, even clean linen and blankets.  Did I mention, all this for a mere $6.00 per night per person??? I forget, downstairs also has a large living room.  Sorry, no TV.  Ask anyone who has been there.

Phil,

It is such a good rally I have been there the past three years ... 845 miles each way.

You might want to mention there is a fire pit also ... even though we have never used it.

There is also rattle snake hunting if you want to go walking through the tall grass.

Anybody want to shoot some target while there? A little contest perhaps. The field is at least 100 yards long.

My recommendation would be either beer or firearms, but not both.  I vote for the beer!

Responsible shooting is something that is done at the camp a lot and is not frowned on, in fact, Dave Zeager down the road has a very extensive collection and totes a pistol at all times.  I wouldn't be surprised if he sleeps with one under his pillow.

That said, one must remember, crossing state lines with a firearm, may and probably is a crime.  Suggestion.  Leave the iron home.

Heh heh, I don't think I could throw an empty can that far.  And I sure as heck would not throw a full one!

Beer and guns don't mix too well, i'd much rather drink some Yuengling.(which they don't bring up past PA) Are there any local breweries near the Amish Rally?
