There is a 1980 Honda Cx500 on ebay in Saint Cloud, Minnesota.
This is what the listing says
1980 honda up for restoration moving can
not keep. Have title, runs but has electrial issues signals do not
work. do have some spare parts. faring is different color, no
windshield. Milage is not known.This is as is, no returns. Pick up only.
It ends in under two days and I have watched it for 4 days now and nobody has bid on it. 99 cents would be a pretty cheap titled bike even if all you want is parts.
Just type in
1980 honda cx500 custom
and you should be able to find it.
Not my bike but if I was closer and it goes cheap it would be.

Really depends on how far gone it is. Pretty big "if" anyway since I tend to get outbid in the last few seconds.

I tend to save my max bid to the end so as it doesn't run up the cost. I prefer to drop a bid of the max I am willing to spend 30 seconds before the end.

$305 the bike is gone. So did anyone from here get it. I was kindof hoping it would go for under a $100 to a good home.

That's fine. My grandpa always said when buying vehicles if it didn't work the way you wanted it to go it probably wasn't ment to be had. There's probably a better bike sitting along someones barn under a tarp that need only gas to run.

That sounds like blatant, unconquerable optimism if I ever heard it. You have it slightly worse then me, I always expect at least two table spoons of Sea-Foam and a pair of plugs to clear up any neglected bike problems.

If my bike had been stored and not left under a tree to rust. All it would have tanken was some gas. Carbs were plugged and a lot of loose wires. But after freeing the pistons and cleaning the carbs it fired right up. My brothers bike only took new jets to work. And the Klr250 he had before that which had been sitting for 7 years only needed the gas drained and new gas and it was good to go.
People like squirreling these bikes away.
I'm not afraid of work if its there to be done. My grandfather and I use to buy trucks that sat out on the back 40 most their retired life with grass growing up through them and still manage to get a few more good years of use out of them as daily drivers.

I think the bike went for over $300. May have been worth it but I don't know. For a second there it looked like it was going to stay low then the price shot up.
