if i put my key in the ignition and turn it so i can start the bike, i can pull the key out. i can do it in any position. now i know what your thinking...maybe the ignition went bad. well, it does it for the tank lock as well as the helmet lock.
do you think my key is worn down?

You can get the key code off the ignition cylinder if you pull it out, and go have a new key cut at Honda. It's stamped on the side of the chrome sleave of the key assembly. You might be able to get it off the helmet lock, but I'm not sure about that. Someone else might now that and pipe in here. If you get a new key made it might stay in then, but there is no garrantee. The tumblers inside should be ok, I can't see EVERY lock being worn out at the same time in the same way!
If your going to do something, do it right, don't do it half as@*d. http://globalcxglvtwins.hostingdelivered.com/

well, if the tumblers were all worn out, that would mean i could stick anything in there and turn it and it would work. i tried the key to my old bike and it went in but wouldnt turn. so the tumblers are good. plus, what are the chances that the ALL the tumblers went be in every single keyhole on the bike?
what does it cost to have a new key made?

this could be dangerous, riding down the road and the key vibrates out....

It could be that it is just the cut of the key. If all the steps are smaller from the head to the tip (like a stair case), there would be nothing to hold the key in place even if everything was new.

I just checked the key for my project/parts bike and , sure enough, it doesn't come out when it's in the 'on' position ... or any other position, for that matter. And I thought this forum was to help me SOLVE problems .... not discover NEW ones!!!
