The Wild Ones Holister Run 2008

Each year there is a massive rally in Hollister CA which commemorates the 1946 mayhem caused by the booze fighters club. Later immortalized by Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin in the 1953 Film the wild ones. In the movie Brando rode a 500cc Triumph Thunder bird 6T.

The rally is usually the 4th of July why don't a group of us CXers form a group and ride our bikes into Hollister to terrorize all the Harley guys? I will be going anyone else game?

HueyS, I wish I could join you!  I have heard about that rally, you do realize that many of those who did the mayhem in 1946 were WWII vets, they didn't all go back to  school!  BTW I thought the 6T referred to the 650 Trump, maybe not.

The Hollister 2008 Rally is now over, I was there on Friday and Saturday. I have never seen so many bikes in one place. There were literally 10's of thousands of motorcycles and more cops per square inch than in Leavenworth. At least 95% of the bikes were Harley's and they all look pretty much alike to me but there were 3 bikes that took my eye. There was a nice 82 Silverwing GLI, my pristine 1980 CX500D and a really nice Goldwing 1200 Interstate. I had fun but how many tee shirts can they sell? The crowd was estimated at over 100,000.

To me, big crowds like that get old in a hurry. How are your ears? See enough pirates to last you a lifetime? Feel like you were in the largest prison break of all time?
