I thought you guys would be interested to see what i have done to my bike so far.
Here is a thread about it from another forum, there are some parts of the transformation that are not shown, but you see the result.

I love what you did to the bike man.  Who knew that a gl500 could look that good.  I have been keeping an eye on your thread on the custom fighters page for some time now.  I have to know, where did you place your battery and all the wiring?  I have been having trouble making my gl500 open in the battery/airbox area.

Thank you

Looks good.  What did you use for turn signals and tail lights?

well, the wiring is tucked into that black box underneath the seat, and i replaced the battery with a smaller AGM type sealed battery and mounted it in the tail.

the front has Ebay short stalk signals, the rear has only brake lights for now.  2   6led modules from oznium.com
soon will come 2 more modules for turn signals.   yellow this time.

Nice job, I like it. A mono shock from a dirtbike would look really cool. I don't know if it would improve or hurt the handling/ride.

that was what i was thinking.    it would be nice to find one that i can change the spring out of, to get the best ride quality.
