Touchup Paint

I was wondering if anyone knows of a source for touchup paint for my original paint silver colored 1982 GL500 Silverwing.

The tank has about 25 small rusty nicks and scratches as well as one sorta good sized dent by the Honda name plate.

I can live with the dent, but the rusty spots bug me.

I an not looking to cherry the bike out with a new paint job. Just touch up the spots that need it.

I am way out here in the midPacific, but we get mail and FedEx and so on.

Anybody got the exact color and where to buy a small bottle?

And I am thinking of taking off the back seat since I doubt my wife would ever ride with me anyhow.

The cowling behind the seat was missing when I bought it and I have seen them with a sizeable box there.

Where would I get one of those? Something like this:

The trunks come up on Fleabay all the time.  You may even be able to come up with a silver one to match the bike.  Should you find one and then decide to rid yourself of the seat, let me know... I'm passively looking for one...

The mufflers on that bike are interesting...

Thanks monki! I 'll be looking for one under what heading on the auction site? And I'll keep you in mind for the seat. What do you have right now at that spot on your ride?

I think I saw that those mufflers are fish-tails turned sideways. Heh.

You can usually find them searching Silverwing trunk... And I've seen them anywhere from 30-100 dollars. There's actually a silver trunk on there right now for about $100... just scroll down to the stores section when you do your search.

I have a tall trunk on my bike now... you can kind of see it in my avatar.  I like the tall ones for the backrest.  Should I ever come across a rear seat, I'd only put it on when I knew I was going to have a passenger, just because I like having something to lean back against.  It makes for a comfortable ride.  Besides... I keep good stuff in there.

It might be because I'm an old coot but I have trouble getting on the bike with the tall trunk. Hard to swing my leg over it

I found this one e-bay today:

Also I discovered that the paint color for my bike is known as Sterling Silver Metallic.

Still lookin' for the touchup paint.

I found this place, but it seems they don't ship to Hawaii, only the 48...

http://www.cyclecolor.com/index.htm

It looks like they don't list colors back further than 1987, but it seems like a helpful company and I say a 1973 Honda that they had matched for.
