cracked overflow stem

i have an extra set of carbs im working on cleaning up to sell, but one of the bowls has a cracked over flow stem and its causing it to leak. the crack goes all the way up the stem from the bottom.

can i just put a piece of shrink tubing over it to fix the crack?

what are some other options to use?

Sounds like a good idea doesn't it. But it's not. I already tried that and wasn't thinking. Gas makes the shrink tube expand so it will last for about 15 mins if you are lucky.

It's a simple fix. Use sandpaper to clean up the tube and solder it back togeather.

There was a post I think last year where someone replaced the tube and it had a decent amount of pictures but it may be really hard to find.

thanks for that link. thats a great fix, however alot of work and i only have about half of those tools. im going to try soldering it first and see if that fixes it. if not, then i'll try replacing the tubes.
