Three CX500's in my tiny city.

I have checked every bike I've seen driving around my little city out here in South Dakota and until today hadn't seen a single other CX500.  But then today happened!  I was riding along with a customer from work to help him carry back a heavy television to the store when I saw a CX drive by us.  I said "Man, that's the first CX500 I've seen in this town that's not my own." He says, "CX500?  I have a CX500!"  I find out that he also has a 1979 CX500 Custom, just like mine!  His has had very little customization done to it, aside from adding a Windjammer fairing and a luggage rack/backseat, and he says it's in near perfect condition, and that he's going to sell it sometime soon.  I might have talked him into keeping it, but if nothing else, I've finally found another proud CX500 owner in this city, of 10,000 people in the middle of nearly nowhere.  Now I just have to get in touch with that other guy and get a ride going with them!  And my new-found CX500 friend has a fully decked out shop he offered me to use with him.  What a great day!

Way to go on finding 2/3 of the cx population in your town. I was almost thinking about following the one I saw the other day to tell them about this site. There are 2 cx500's driving around near my apartment. Not sure if it is on their way home or what but I see them drive by around the same time every day. There are two Gl500's at my work. We almost need a magnetic card that we can put on the other bikes when we don't see their owners so they know the group exists.

Not a bad idea blindstitch.  A few of the car forums I'm on offer a stack of business cards w/ info on them for like a buck shipped.  Helps get the word out about the forum.

I just saw on facebook, that one of my friends comments on someone's picture, so curious, i went and looked at the pic, and it was a mint looking cx500. so i had to email him... not sure where he lives, but it was cool nonetheless

It is my plan to stick a card on any CX/GLs I see at VMD this week, with the web address "choppercharles.com" on it.

I frequently see CXs in parking lots around here.  I've been tempted to print up some cards with the forum URL to leave on the bikes.

Hey, Gotfalls,

There's another CX500 about 50 miles south of you in Wayne.  Unfortunately it does not run due to a broken engine.  Know of any spares up there?

I've been thinking of a little jaunt up there with my wife for breakfast (my Goldwing does run).  Can you recommend a good spot?
