HTTA National Rally, PA

RichNCT 07-07-2008, 10:10 AM

Folks, this "Amish Rally" has been called the HTTA (Honda Twisted Twin Association) National Rally.  It is certainly the closest we come to one.  The club banner will be there, and it sees sunshine only a couple of times a year.  Don't miss it!

What is the HTTA?  Well, geeez, I'd guess if you're reading this you're a member

Phil, email me about shipping the banner to you or someone else who will be there from the opening salutes.  I'd planned to take it to VMD last weekend in July, then ship it out.

Just a reminder in case some of you are still on the fence about coming (or going?).  This is the "Big One".  They might elect officers for the coming year.  Could be the first year we raffle off a beautifully restored GL650I with all the Markland goodies on it.  Or not.    You'll know first if you are there!

Would this be the first year there are officers?

The only officers we are concerned with are the ones in uniform you don't want to meet while they are on the job.

Well, you could hear first hand the real story behind slimey bacon . . . and PA buffaloes . . . and blue beer . . .

Rich, Your "posts" seem to suggest that you're NOT going to make it to the Amish Rally - I was really looking forward to meeting you again, and correcting some of the misconceptions you have thrust at me during the years.

Seriously, though, hoping you CAN find the time to attend.  We're making-up a bit of time on our itinerary right now, so we should be at the rally for a sizeable portion of the time-span.

I received a bit of good news today.  It looks like I'll be able to get off work to attend the rally after all.

It will be nice to see everyone's mug.

Dave F is in and, just as quickly, I'm out.  The kids decided to hold a family reunion the 16th-19th.  I can't squeeze in both and Momma gave me "the look" when I seemed to think about my options.

Sorry guys,

"Rich, Your "posts" seem to suggest that you're NOT going to make it to the Amish Rally" I AM planning on being there. I am shipping the HTTA banner to Phil now that is has flown proudly (and lonely) at the Vintage Motorcycle Days in Ohio this past weekend, because I am not usually in PA for the opening flag ceremony ;-) Wouldn't miss hearing "Tales from the North" and buying you two a beer. We hope to be riding in on a pair of CX650 EuroSports, it's about 6 hrs for us. Might be accompanied by a friend on his CX650T also. There should be a fairly complete display of North American models represented. Have you decided on your "Tech Session" subject yet? I used my "pop bottle" oil funnel the other day again, and thought of you at TWO in Georgia while I poured. That was where I met "Chopper" Charles and Dick (RIP) too. It will be good to see some guys I would otherwise never cross paths with, Dave/Wisconsin and Dave/Atlanta are two top notch US troubleshooters that come to mind first who will likely be in attendance.

"and correcting some of the misconceptions you have thrust at me during the years." Well, NOW you have my curiosity and attention! If my supposed misconceptions are related to my believing you are probably the top Engish speaking CX/GL guru in the world, you will be unsuccessful, and are fore-warned of same. Ride Safe, and take good care of that old guy riding with you, I want to see Gene again too.

I think we'll be accompanied by a CX650 Custom too.

Hi Guys,

For those who attended last year's New England Rally held in Vermont (Sept. 07), you know who I am.

Planning on joining you guys for this year's HTTA "Amish" National Rally in PA on late Friday, Saturday & part of Sunday. I will be riding out with the CT contingent (4 confirmed now?).

I was at the 2006 Amish Rally with my fellow CX/GL enthusiast from Connecticut.

Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces, and meeting some new ones......I dare to take the challenge.

Until then...enjoy the ride...I will!

Most likely, shining her up and I dressed her last night with soft bags. All weather dependant as I'm most likely super-slabing it and it might get a bit uncomfortable with the lower windscreen compare to my other bike.

Anyone arriving from north east areas be advised of bridge construction on I-80 not too far inside PA and single lane travel. Expect delays around morning and evening rush hours. I also heard about some work on I-81 but I'm not certain of the location. They just screwed up the road I live on with a tar and chip job. What a &*&*& P.I.A.
