Thanks, I've been pondering whether or not to paint the two ol' Triumph headlight buckets "white" ?????? Otherwise, it's serving it's purpose n' carrying my beer n' groceries home - along with again being able to get out and enjoy the wind n' sights along the way ....

Cheers,

Bryan

Does the rear hold a 24 or 30 pack above the saddlebags.
How's the trailer idea coming?

Think you mean between the saddlebags - as they attach to the midpoint of the box .......  aye the box will hold 24 bottles to 36 cans hidden (when I finish the cover) - so now I could stack a couple 2/4's and hold them down with bungies !!!!  As for the trailer n' sidecar projects - well, I may be getting a little sidetracked - as presently bidding on a '82 chopper frame with 30 degree racked twisted chrome double springer fork extensions ...... for possibly my next project ???

Cheers, ......

Bryan

Only problem in comparing bikes - is I'll either have to have my arms extended about 20 inches or real serious pull back bars <grin> ....... yet, still in the works, and probably will fall through - but it's fun dreamin' about what I could do with it ??????????????? Yet, only really interested in the frame n' forks - the rest (250 Yami motor ) is junk .......

Cheers, n' Happy Trails,

Bryan

Bryan,
Your bike looks great, by all means, paint the buckets. That other one is the ugliest SOB I have ever seen...........It's great, I love it! Good luck on the bidding. Alot of good stuff there for a chopper build.

Aye Tom - I agree with you, as only good parts are tires, springer forks n' top end of frame -  but want your honest opinion before I follow through ...... as I've been thinkin' about my "real dream bike" - of which this may be a start (albeit only papered for a 250) - it will get me to buy a welder <smiles> ...... it will give me a year or more of "one piece at a time" project build ..... it will get my engineering mind back in gear again - as I want to convert to at least a 650 frame ..... n' best of all - I won't be pissin' all my money down the toilet !!! Albeit, it's also fun - n' I've already got a nice beer hauler - I know exactly how you feel when you rode your chop n' heads turned n' bro's said "WOW" ....... last time I had that feeling was oh so long ago - when I bought a '58 Harley Chopper ....... but to be honest wasn't really mine, as always thought about damn the guy who chopped this knew what he was doing !!!!!

So let me know what you think, as I will honor your thoughts - albeit my final decision ......

Cheers,

Bryan

Jeeze Tom, I think the stretch is even greater than 30 degree's as I have 4 pics and put a scale on them and must be almost 12 friggin' feet from front to back on the little beast - so it's scary ...... but still fun - as circus bike ....... yet definately would be shortening and strengthening the mid frame - I do like the long rake on the forks - yet may have to get away from shaft drive ? ...... yet, as a structural steel engineer I can build anything  ........ yet never owned or rode a belt drive - so may even play with that idea ........ aye, before I finish my dozen brews - I'll have this thing drawn up ....... leastwise in my head until the next dozen brews <LOL> ....

Cheers, n' may the wind be in your face n' not up your arse - as then your ridin' backwards .....

Bryan

Sounds like you know what you are looking at. The parts list you gave is about what I was thinking, although I like the tank too.
Might get it pretty cheap as (most) people looking at this listing are only going to see a bike that is unfinished and does not run. Great front-end for a chopper.
Talk to you later. I am going to hit the old sack. Goodnight Bryan.
Tom

So your kinda with  me on this Tom - I know I'm drunk n' know a lot about life n' bikes n' most everything - as I'm an ol' fart who's been around n' done most everything ...... n' still wants to do more - which even sometimes surprizes me - as I could easily sit around and just get pleasantly poluted drunk every day n' not have a care in the world ....... but I also see something in this totally unfinished piece of garbage that intrigues me ???  Even at a 250cc level - why would anyone put so much effort n' money into it ????  A dream !!!!! Which I'm presently thinking of taking on and changing their dream into mine ....... yet if this one falls through, eventually I'll find another ...... but I won't give up without a reason ...... as fate does call once in a while, n' at present I'm offering $750. (which I believe is a bit low, but reasonable starting bid) ..... with maximum $751. ....... <LOL> ......

Take care, n' have a goodun' ....

Bryan

Best thing is it's a local listing - so my 1st cousin's in Middleton, N.S. and can make it a family visit along with picking up the chop ...... now, only quest is I still haven't received any response to my bid - and do know he's asking over a thousand ...... so gonna leave it in fates hands - n' time for another ........ as regardless, I do have a pretty good running bike now, n' comparing possibly what another $750. would do to make my CX an even a better one ?????  Aye, take the front forks off and replace with extended springers c/w top end mount (little welding required) ...... lower the back shocks another 2 inches  (only $100.) .... change the tires n' rims to spoked (nice) ......  n' that's about it ....... so rest is up for grabs ........ Aye, I only need one bike, n' I'm gonna live n' bury me with my ol' CX .......

Hence: believe you can possibly see my dream between the two ?  Leastwise I can with some tweeken' ......

Cheers, n' Very Happy Trails Ahead,

Bryan

This is a bike (196?) triumph that I am building for a friend. I am fitting a 1975, 400 Kaw motor.

This is the bike I ride since the wing is out of commission right now. The Shadow is not so bad, but it is still not a chopper.

Both very nice rides Tom ...... I really like your Shadow ...... damn, I really like your Shadow !!!!!!!! Does it have air valves on the front forks ?  If so, my other Shadow buddy is wondering what pressure should he put in ???? He didn't even realize, after 6 years of ridin' - it had air in front shocks <dah> ....... until I turned the knobs on top and showed him .......

Cheers, n' Happy Trails ...... I'm gonna take a little trip tomorrow to my ol' homestead town of Mahone Bay (about 150 miles round trip) - so gonna leave early after the brews wear off a little ?"

I wouldn't even think of what your doing bro .... Kawi sucks big time ...... had one n' that's enough ..... had about a dozen Triumph's - want more ...... so my turn to kick your arse !!!!!

Take care, n' again, did I mention, I really like your Shadow <grin> ...

My bud has a 2002 harley, a 196? triumph that he rode for years, and the frame he is having me to work on. He had this frame as an extra in case he ever needed it for the one he rode all the time. Now he has retired his triumph for the new Harley and doesn't need the extra triumph frame any more. I'll see if I can find a pic of his Triumph. And by the way kick my ass any time you think I need it. I have the utmost respect for any opinion you may have. Too late though, I have already done some cutting on the frame. As you can see the motor is already in there.

Here we are on a 300 mile ride to raise money for cancer research. It is called the relay for life. That is me on the left next to my silverwing chopper. That is curt in the middle and his brother Micheal on the right. On the far right is Curt's triumph. Kick start, rigid. He is spoiled by the new Harley, but will own the Triumph when he dies, like I will my Silverwing.

Aye, really like the brit flag paint job !!! ..... was thinkin' of painting the Nova Scotia flag on my tank - and still might between the upcoming projects - of which I completed yet another off my long list today - (took down my Christmas Lights and Cards n' put them away) <smiles> - so celebratin' with another Moosehead whilst playing Carols (Christmas in July) !!!..... also bought another car from my cousin yesterday (94 Eagle Dodge Colt) for $100. - but is inspected till next March - so only gonna drive it too the ground then take whatever's still good off n' tow it to the pound .... also ordered new back brake shoes, shocks, n' struts for my ( '89 Eagle Dodge Colt Vista Wagon) - so that's another project ...... otherwise, there's always multiple house reno's - so, keeping busy is necessary ..... and you know I have similar respect for you - so mainly just joshin' a little - as I've seen what you can do and am very impressed .......

Cheers, n' Happy Projects ahead,

Bryan
