No power at all
Hi All-
The search feature doesn't seem to be working so I'll just post my post.
I am looking at buying a 1981 CX-500. It is at my house after sitting since 2001. I got it running, tooled around the yard a little and put it in the garage. The next day, rode in the yard again, then stopped and washed the bike. Took off the seat, tank, and side covers. Washed it pretty good but tried not to spray it too much. Pushed it back into the garage. Went out the next day to ride up the road a bit. When I turned the ignition key, nothing lights up. No power anywhere. I have checked all the fuses, disassembled and cleaned the ignition sitch, and checked my battery connections. What next? I am stumped. TIA!!!

Re: No power at all
We have another bike going through something similar in another post. If you have a electrical test light check and see if juice is getting past the fuse. Another suggestion is to clean up the cables and check where it grounds to the bike. If you have power at the battery try jumping the power across the starter solinoid. If it cranks that's a good start.

Re: No power at all
Chris,
When you said you checked all the fuses, does that include the main fuse under the left side cover next to the battery?
If you have not checked that one, look at this thread:

If I end up buying the bike, I will do that mod. Thanks!
