Yes [Y] Carbs by LRCXed

I recently sent a set of GL500 carbs to Larry, LRCXed, to be cleaned/polished/rebuilt.  These photos show how they turned out.

The quality of his work speaks for itself.  My wife was present when I received the package and her immediate reaction upon seeing them was WOW!!

It was a real pleasure dealing with Larry.  He kept me completely informed throughout the process with frequent email communications.  The only surprise was just how nice they turned out.  Highly recommended.

No, they are not for sale.

Disclaimer:  I have no financial interest or other compensation associated with posting this.  Larry simply did a great job and deserves recognition.

I would have him do a set for me, but it would be a pain to have to take them out of the glass dome sitting on the coffee table every time I wanted to ride.  Just think what they will look like when he gets the use of his other arm back.  Probably have to put on a welder's helmet just to open the box.  Great job, Larry.  Youse is de polishin MAN.

Blue Fox if you need too. Send the carbs out to Larry. I actually told him if it saved him time not to polish mine but god I'm glad he did. As soon as summer hits they will be on the bike along with the second set I sent out there.

Naw, Don.   I was just trying to make Larry feel good.  I have my carbs in great condition internally, and have also polished the outside.  Not quite as good as Larry does, but they did shine up pretty good with a buffing wheel and jeweler's rouge.

From all I am learning from Larry it almost seems like the most important tool in his arsenal besides his knowledge is that ultrasonic. I don't have one but I know by seeing basic soaking pictures sent by Larry is it does one hell of a job on the outside in so little time that I can only wonder what a great job it does on the inside. It seems like if one of the little fuel/air passages in the carb is plugged everything is out of wack.  I like to know I am dealing with completely clean parts to start with and could only wonder what's plugged in the set on my main bike.

If it wern't for cranking the idle up to 2,000 rpms who knows what it would run like. It fluctuates so oddly going down to 1500 rpms average (can be as low as 800) and up to 2700 rpms.  But either way the problem is going to be solved when the shiny set and bike meet in a few months.

Dave,
Very nice pictures! Where the heck did you get those? LOL

I can't take all the credit for this out come. Dave sent me a very nice set of carbs that had not been corroded or abused in the first place. But I did enjoy how they came out in the end too!

Thanks Fox, I got goose bumps ALL OVER MY ..... well, that's enough of that now huh!

Blindstitch,
Get the torch out and melt that snow.
I had no idea your set on the main bike ran that erratic!
You never told me you were suffering so badly!

Thanks guys, And Enjoy Dave! When the weather gets warmer.

Not suffering. Living with. If the bike's at idle all the time are you riding. I think not. Most of the time it stays at 2200 rpms like I like it. Other times I have no clue what it's doing. But it only affects the idle or stopping at lights. Riding there aren't any problems.
Maybe I just tried to drown out the problem with the 2 into 1.

Dave, your making me jealous! Am I going to have to send Larry a set now? I have been mulling it over since I seen the first set he did. Fricking sweet, set.

Larry, do you think these would clean up as nice?

Just kidding.

These came from a sad parts bike that had been left out in the rain for several years.

Dave,
It would be fun to see what the ultra sonic cleaner would do with them. What a test huh!

No doubt.

The photos were taken as the bike was being dismantled.  Since then several parts have been removed for use on other carbs that were missing things.

Thanks CXSarnia,
I was shocked they sold so quick.
Makes me think I should buy up a few sets of 750 and 900 CB carbs. They are a lot of work. But seem to be worth it.
I have a set of CX carbs on and they have not moved one inch yet. Oh well.
It's the time of the season I guess.

Well you know how these things work. If you find the right person at the right time. Sold. Probably a lot more CB owners out there than CX.

I'm wondering if the price I suggested (from the website I directed you to) is more than realistic for the CB750 Crowd. Maybe, if you sell at the suggested prices, I should be getting a commision?

I'll try that next time CXS.
I sold quick because I am just trying to make enough money to do a 600 mile trek to pick up the 2 CX's I bought for $200.00. They are sitting in a forum members garage, and it's killing me not to see what I bought. Although it's probably a good thing since my shoulder is less than 100% due to the surgery.

But thanks for reminding me that I could have ........ LOL

Nice carbs Larry. Be kind to that shoulder it is a complex joint and prone to reinjury if you go to fast. From experience the 2nd surgery is much worse and chances of full recovery can be measures in years.
